Patch 13.08 Corrode Map Guide: Mid Control, A-Link Rotations & Retakes

With Patch 13.08 and Act 6, Riot brought Corrode back into the active competitive pool accompanied by substantial layout adjustments designed to reduce oppressive attacker post-plants and give defenders faster cross-map rotations.

1. The Lower Mid Wall Rework The Lower Mid barrier has been raised significantly. Previously, attackers could hop onto boxes and establish uncontested sightlines into defender spawn rotations. The heightened barrier forces deliberate utility investment (like flash or dash) to contest Mid territory, allowing defenders to cross safely between A and B Links.

2. A-Link Reconfiguration The half-wall heading toward A-Link has been repositioned. Attackers can no longer be spotted immediately from Top-Mid when maneuvering toward A-Link, unlocking dynamic split-site attacks.

3. A-Site Post-Plant Calibration A-Site's plant boundaries were restructured to eliminate safe, deep chokepoint spam from A-Link. Defenders now have wider retake angles with more natural cover props, leveling the playing field during 3v3 and 2v2 retake scenarios.

4. Optimal Agent Composition for Corrode * **Controller (Omen):** High-elevation Paranoia and Dark Cover smokes perfectly block the newly opened Mid sightlines. * **Sentinel (Killjoy / Cypher):** Alarmbots and Trapwires secure the modified defender rotation tunnels. * **Initiator (Sova):** Recon darts reveal attackers pushing through the modified A-Link corridor.
