1. The Pre-First Light World
Before the discovery of Radianite, Earth was culturally and technologically comparable to our modern world. In the late 20th century, Kingdom Corporation emerged as a powerful industrial syndicate, initially dealing in energy infrastructure and mining. Scientists like Dr. Sabine Callas (Viper) and research pioneers pushed the boundaries of biological and chemical physics.
2. The Event: First Light (2039)
In 2039, an unprecedented worldwide event known as 'First Light' altered reality forever. Massive rings of blue crystalline energy erupted across continents. This new element was named Radianite. Radianite possessed near-limitless energy density, sparking a new Industrial Revolution spearheaded almost entirely by Kingdom Corporation. However, exposure to high-intensity Radianite waves caused biological mutations in a small percentage of humans, turning them into 'Radiants' with supernatural powers over wind, fire, cosmos, and dimensional planes.
3. The Founding of the VALORANT Protocol (VP)
As Radianite instability caused regional collapses (such as the floating islands of Ascent in Venice and the Rift disaster), the United Nations covertly chartered a global covert response unit: The VALORANT Protocol. Agent 01, Liam Byrne (Brimstone), and Agent 02, Dr. Sabine Callas (Viper), were tasked with assembling the world's most elite combatants, whether Radiant or tech-augmented non-Radiants.
4. The Discovery of Omega Earth (Mirror Invasion)
During the Venice incident and subsequent attacks at Bind and Haven, the Protocol captured surveillance footage of attackers wearing identical faces to their own agents (e.g. Phoenix encountering another Phoenix in the Duality cinematic). Sova, Killjoy, and Cypher reverse-engineered captured Spike technology, proving that Omega Earth was suffering from catastrophic environmental collapse and stealing Alpha Earth's Radianite to power their dying world.

Recent discoveries in Lisbon (Pearl), Los Angeles (Sunset), and the secret underground facilities of Abyss have exposed third-party syndicates: the Scions of the Hourglass, private security contractors Realm and Atlas, and rogue agents like Vincent Fabron (Chamber) who orchestrated the destruction of the Fracture collider to force Alpha and Omega Earths into contact.
